All of our content creation experiments eventually led to Skillademia. The idea was simple: create high-quality educational content that people genuinely wanted to learn from, without relying on the limitations of the advertising business model.
Skillademia focuses on online courses across topics like creative skills, design, technology, AI, and productivity. Over time we also launched Lingomelo, a portfolio company dedicated to language learning courses.
The inspiration came from our earlier experiences with YouTube and content platforms. We loved creating educational content, but ad-based models made it difficult to build something sustainable. Courses solved that problem because they allowed us to create truly valuable educational content that people were happy to pay for.
From the beginning we decided to take a very long-term approach. Our goal is to create some of the best courses in the world in the subjects we teach and help as many people as possible improve their professional lives through education.
That’s also why we focus heavily on affordability. Instead of positioning courses as expensive products, we try to deliver as much value as possible while keeping prices accessible for people all around the world.
Today, across Skillademia and Lingomelo, we have more than 384,000 students globally. Knowing that our courses help people develop new skills and improve their careers is one of the most rewarding aspects of everything we build.
